          San Francisco-based white trumpeter Mark Isham (), a former member of Art Lande's Rubisa Patrol in Scandinavia () and of the jazz-rock quartet Group 87 () with guitarist Peter Maunu bassist Patrick O'Hearn and drummer Terry Bozzio, wed his oneiric Miles Davis-influenced technique with chromatically haunting synthesizers on Vapor Drawings (may ), a cycle of meticulously-arranged impressionistic vignettes (with all instruments played by him except drums).
