Acknowledged for his roles in Muthyala Muggu and Suryakantham, Prajwal PD is a television actor and trained classical dancer. Prajwal PD’s roots hail from Udipi in Karnataka, but he was born and grew up in Bengaluru.

He comes from a non-filmy background where his father, Damodar, is an accountant and his mother, Hamsavani, is a homemaker. He has an elder brother Pradhan who is a software engineer. Fascinated by actor Kamal Hassan’s dance performance in Sagara Sangamam, Prajwal’s mother made him enroll in a dance class when he was nine years old.

Under the tutelage of Roopshri Madhusudan, he learned the Pandanallur style of Bharatanatyam and went on to perform in competitions. Later, Prajwal learned the Tandava dance style under the training of Satyanarayana Raju.

He initially wanted to become a Mechanical engineer but later opted to study Commerce to devote more of his time to dance.
